- Drink plenty of liquids, 4-5 Ltrs/day and fruit juices every day to stay hydrated.
- Avoid tea/coffee and alcoholic beverages.
- Dress appropriately. Wear loose-fitting clothes in natural fabrics like cotton and dress in light colors that will reflect the sun and heat instead of darker colors that will attract them.
- When you are outside, protect your skin from damage by wearing hats, sunglasses and a appropriate sunscreen.
- Avoid outdoor activity during extreme heat.
- If you need to go outside of the house avoid waiting for public transport in scorching heat.
- Take a bath or shower to maintain your body temperature on extremely hot days.
- Know the signs of heat stroke (e.g flushed face, high body temperature, headache, nausea, vomiting, rapid pulse, dehydrated dizziness) and take immediate action .
- Always Keep ORS and water with you .
- Always Keep your Id card, Emergency contact numbers and helpline numbers.
