Kick The Habit – Thinking About The Deadly Effects?

If you're intent on quitting smoking and you're one of those people with the right mind-set, then just thinking of all the terrible effects that smoking causes can very definitely help you successfully kick the habit permanently. This is very likely the main driving force for most smokers trying to quit in the first place.

Knowing the whole range of destructive-to-health-and-mind and plain killer effects of sucking down tobacco smoke and puffing it back out so that every person else around you inhales your second-hand smoke would at least, to begin with, usually be the first push toward that first step of quitting.

Generally speaking, the most common way of driving home those anti-smoking campaigns is in fact by the regular quoting or presentation of all the various harmful aspects of smoking - from anti-social aspects like your breath stinking like an "old ashtray" through to the deadly miserable slow deaths caused by cancers and lung diseases like emphysema.

You'd think that being armed with this terrifying knowledge would be more than enough to make sure you're disgusted by the horrible things that you're doing to yourself and the horrible health risks you're most unquestionably putting your own and other peoples' bodies through, which in turn is intended to help you quit for good.

Very sadly, this is just not the case at all - it just doesn't work for a lot of people, since they're more (unjustifiably) frightened of what would happen to them if they can't get their regular fix!

So then, although practically every heavy smoker [even if they don't admit it] are actually completely horrified by the images and information that he or she now knows, because of irrational fear, they just end up building a sturdy resistance to this method for quitting and simply turn out to be immune to the concern about the harmful effects of smoking.

Here's now of course, when the real human fault of conjuring up excuses for NOT doing something then kicks in - I can't tell you how many times I've heard things like "we all have to die of something" or "it's no point being healthy when I die". How sad and ludicrous is that?

Basically it just doesn't matter what terrible things they've seen or learned via all the differing media, a smoker just stops noticing them and can then quite unbelievably just stop truly believing all that evidence.

It's probable that you've already had a go at quitting by using this method and you've then generally found that the next time you tried with the same method it wasn't anywhere near as helpful as that first time - admit it, it's true right?

All in all, it can work for a few people but it's obvious that the 'reverse negative motivation' caused by trying this method is nowhere nearly as powerful as the positive motivation and determination that's required for quitting smoking.

In summary; using knowledge of the ill-effects caused by smoking to quit more-often-than-not only ends with failure. There are alternative proven methods and even though you're bound to find it a little tough at first, being able to kick the habit is much easier than you think – YOU ONLY HAVE TO WANT TO!

Quitting smoking naturally, speedily, and permanently isn't and has never been about overly complicated systems and/or poisonous pills and patches - it's all about simplicity, a little bit of will-power and some genuine tried and tested tobacco-quitting knowledge.
